THE company in charge of Son Sant Joan airport Palma AENA (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navigacion Aerea) has decided to introduce a €1 charge to use the luggage trolleys.

The company has decided to introduce it in six other airports including Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Gran Canaria, Tenerife (south) and Alicante.

The introduction of the charges have not been given an exact date. Many other European countries have already introduced the scheme.

The company claims that by introducing charges they can keep the trolleys in better condition and give users a better service. And the move is set to raise millions of euros in extra cash.
