Court threat over tourist status in Malaga

TOURIST AREA: Many visitors arrive at the train station.

MALAGA council has asked that the Junta de Andalucia consider the city an Area of Major Tourist Influx.

The council wants the Junta to include 1,200 shops and shopping centres within the area, so that they have the freedom to open when they wish. If the changes are not made, the council plans to take the matter to court.
