Close finish at Buena Vista’s founder’s cup.

FOUNDER’S TROPHY: Petanca club’s competition winners flank the founder.

BUENA VISTA Petanca Club’s 2013 Founder’s Trophy resulted in a very close finish, with Len Warwick and Emerita Basham finishing one point ahead of runners-up Susie Firth and John Wright.
Len and Emerita won all three games, scoring plus 21 points, while Susie and John also finished with three wins, scoring plus 20 points.
The random pairs event, the club’s first competition of the year, proved to be very popular, drawing 32 entries.

Sixteen pairs is the maximum that can be accommodated on the club’s eight pistes at Merendero Pepe Mesa on the Playazo beach, Nerja.
The club’s founder Bob Miles and his wife Pauline watched the final round of games before Bob presented the trophy, a fitting conclusion to the morning’s play, and a day before he celebrated his 80th birthday!

The Founder’s competition is one of Buena Vista’s original competitions dating back to the club’s inauguration in 1998.
