ARCHITECTURAL SUPPORT: The Alcazaba of Velez Blanco is next in line for a boost.
THE Minister of Culture, Luciano Alonso, has confirmed government support for the conservation of the regions’ architectural heritage. Spending over the past seven years has reached €22 million, and the next tranche of money, he confirmed, would be spent on the Alcazaba of Velez Blanco.
Alonso said: “In 2005 the Board launched the Defensive Architecture Plan of Andalucia to stop the degradation of the visual landmarks and heritage that are emblematic of the cultural landscape of the region”.
