MORE than 40 walkers from Almuñecar took a hike in El Torcal, Antequera. The coordinator of the Municipal Sports Board, Enrique Garin and guide Francisco Novo took the walkers on an unforgettable walk. It went along the old road, passing through green meadows sprinkled with wild flowers and rose to the unique rocks of El Torcal.
The walkers then continued to the visitors’ centre where they stopped at the museum before continuing to the Mirador del Amonites. They then made their way through the maze of stones and rock outcrops with names like the camel, the bird, the hat and the sentinels.
Next walk planned for May 5 will be from the Pinos del Valle to Velez Benaudalla.
Anyone interested in joining can apply at the Municipal Sports Board (PMD) in Almuñecar next to the municipal stadium, between 9am and 2pm and 5pm to 7pm or by telephoning 958 883142.
