Things looking up for the coast this summer

GOOD news for those running a business that’s attractive to tourists anywhere along the Spanish coast. Holidaymakers from the UK, Ireland and other northern European countries may well be flocking to Spain for summer fun this year, due to very reasonably priced Mediterranean holiday packages.

According to a British holiday cost-comparison report, prices have nosed-dived in popular Mediterranean resorts.

This year’s continuously depressing, grey, dull and cold weather means that most of our more northerly residents are craving sunshine, but fantastic all-included package deals are also tempting many Brits and the likes to holiday in Spain this summer.

The report reveals that when looking at in-resort prices, such as meals and drinks, at 20 locations, across The Mediterranean and the UK, holiday packages in Spain and Portugal are much more attractively priced for tourists.

Judged on 10 items, Albufeira in the Portuguese Algarve had the lowest prices, with the items costing €54.32. But Malaga’s Torremolinos came in at a very close second, where the items cost just €54.51. While Javea on Spain’s Costa Blanca was only fractionally more expensive with the same items totaling €55.26.

So shop-owners, small businesses, café proprietors and restaurateurs, get out your duster and get ready for a busy summer accompanied by the soothing “ka-ching” melody of the cash till, finger’s crossed!
