LIFE SAVING: new ambulance will be staffed by the Red Cross.
A NEW ambulance for the community of Mazarron has been presented by the Honorary British Consul Antonio Berdonces to the town’s Mayor Gines Campillo.
The ambulance has been funded by money raised by the ex-pat community over a six year period by a team led by PALS (Protection and Life Saving) and Bahia Lions, supported by Costa Calida Radio and Lions Country Club were very important.
Around €45,100 has been raised and PALS has advanced the balance to ensure that the vehicle was available before the summer influx of visitors.
President of PALS Ken Payne said: “In these hard times we appreciate any donation. By reinvesting in the community it demonstrates to our hosts our appreciation of allowing us the privilege of living in this fantastic country.’
