CALA SERENA: Hidden dangers.
HOPES of finding alive a man who was swept away by the sea are fading fast. Emergency services were scrambled to search for a man reported missing in Cala Serena (Cala D’or).
The alarm was raised after four men entered a sea cave and were caught by a large wave. Three of the men managed to get out, but one, an Argentinean, failed to reappear.
His friends called the emergency services, but strong winds and a heavy swell and rain hampered the search.
The marine rescue, Guardia Civil, firemen and Local Police were involved in the operation. At the time of going to press the search had to be called off because of adverse weather conditions.
