Ex-Real Madrid and Sevilla player, Julio Baptista, looks ahead to a “special” week coming up against his two former teams, the first on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabéu at 9:30 p.m: “I’m really looking to going back to the Bernabéu, I’ve not been there for five years. I’ll always have affection for Real Madrid, but I’m defending the Málaga colours now and we’re going to try our best to do the possible or impossible and bring three points home.”

The ‘Malaguista’ continues: “We need to ensure we end the season well, as we’ve worked so hard and achieved so much.  It’d be such a shame if we didn’t qualify for European football next year.  There are only a few games left so we need to keep fighting until the end to make sure we get there.”

The former Real Madrid player adds: “They’ll obviously be determined to win to prevent Barcelona from becoming League champions so early on.  However with the amount of points Barça have got, it’ll be very difficult for them not to win the League.”

The Brazilian-born striker goes on to say: “We’ve haven’t shown the same fluidity on the pitch in away games as we do at home, and therefore haven’t had as many goal opportunities.  We’ve let a lot of points slip through our fingers, so the only thing we can do now is gain as many of the remaining points as possible to finish as high up the League table as we can.”
