This Renault’s a good sport

Renault has brought out its latest hot hatch. The GT 120 EDC. This car is aimed squarely at the people who want that sporty look, but don’t want the power of the Clio R.S.200.

Clio GT 120 EDC’s sporty exterior features a front bumper incorporating wide-set LED lights, a special rear bumper design, twin exhaust tailpipes, body-coloured side protective mouldings with dark metal insert and dark metal door mirror housings.

It also boasts extra-tinted rear glass and special 17-inch wheels, plus GT badging beneath the Renault logo at the front and on the tailgate.

The tailgate of the Hatchback of Clio GT 120 EDC features the spoiler from Clio R.S. The car can be ordered in a Malte Blue finish.
Inside, the seats boast specific upholstery with GT-branded head rests.

The upper part of the dashboard features a speckled grey finish, in addition to grey trim highlights.

The two fixed EDC gearshift paddles are mounted behind the leather-trimmed sports steering wheel.  Like Clio RS, Clio GT 120 EDC is fitted with aluminium pedal caps and Renault Sport-badged door sill guards.

Clio GT 120 EDC’s standard equipment list also includes the in-dash, connected R-Link multimedia tablet. Clio GT 120 EDC id now available at Renault dealers, priced at €20,990 and €21,590 for the Hatchback and Estate versions respectively.

 Features include:
-17-inch GT alloy wheels,
-Sport chassis,
-R.S. Drive,
-Steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles,
-Special GT upholstery,
-Specific front and rear bumpers,
-Twin exhaust tailpipes,
-Spare wheel.

Clio GT 120 EDC and Clio Estate GT 120 EDC are exclusively available with the TCe120 EDC. This 1.2 litre 120hp turbo engine delivers peak torque of 190Nm and drives through six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

With this powertrain, Clio GT 120 EDC’s combined-cycle fuel consumption is just 5.2 litres/100 km, equivalent to CO2 emissions of 120g/km.
Developed by Renault Sport Technologies, Clio GT 120 EDC’s chassis incorporates features specifically designed to provide a keener handling edge than the core Clio range.

The front springs and dampers are respectively 40per cent and 30 per cent stiffer, while the bump stops have been adapted accordingly.
Clio GT 120 EDC’s multi-mode R.S. Drive function allows drivers to choose between a number of power steering calibrations and accelerator pedal and dual-clutch automatic transmission mappings. In ‘Sport’ mode, acceleration is more responsive and gearshifts are faster.
