Spectrum FM Costa Almeria expands inland

EXPANSION: ‘Great news for listeners and advertisers alike.’

After years of successful and informative broadcasting on the coast, Spectrum FM have decided to replicate the format inland after swathes of requests.

So now as well as on 90.8FM from Mojacar to Mazarron on the coast you will be to tune in to 96.1FM which will encompass Lubrin, Albox, Arboleas, Baza, Cantoria, Albanchez, Purchena, Taberno, Oria, Huercal Overa Velez Rubio, Puerto Lumbreras and Lorca.

Richard Shanley of Spectrum FM spoke of the new plans: “This is great news for listeners and advertisers alike. We will now be reaching in excess of 2,000 square kilometres, making us easily the largest Spectrum FM region throughout the network.

“Advertisers will be able to target their marketing either coastal or inland; it’s a win-win situation for everyone. With all new equipment installed in the Spectrum FM studios in The Parque Comercial in Mojacar and state-of-the-art transmitters, the sound quality is significantly enhanced and there is no need to retune your car when you drive inland or vice versa. It will all be done automatically via the RDS system on your car stereo. Obviously if listening at home or work then please tune your radios to the correct frequency for your area which is 90.8FM Coastal and 96.1FM Inland.”

Spectrum FM Almería is administered by the ACIEE (Asociación Cultural para la Integración de los Extranjeros en España), so the expansion will directly result in expatriates accessing local and regional information on a daily basis to assist with their integration.

Spectrum FM Almería will also provide a vital lifeline to these residents in the case of emergency situations such as forest fires, storms or floods. The station’s presenters are experienced in relaying messages from public administrations to a large audience in English, and are able to provide a unique community service under adverse conditions.
