SUMMER SCHOOL: No child is left behind
LA NUCIA town hall is allocating €5,000 to finance registration fees for the summer school. The school, or Escoleta, is organised by the Social Welfare department for children aged between 3 and 24. It is aimed at helping families who need to coordinate their own work commitments with the school holidays.
The help with registration fees has been made available to ensure that no child will be refused a place on economic grounds, said councillor Esperanza Soria.
Activities include excursions and a bus to take the children to the La Nucia sports complex. There will be assistance on hand for children with special needs and teachers to help with revision for pupils needing to retake exams in September.
