LOCAL Police have seized more than 200 counterfeit products after a seafront chase.
The confiscation of the goods took place during a special operation against ‘piracy’ that intensifies during the summer in Almuñecar.
Police had spotted several individuals selling pirated copies of various goods on the Paseo San Cristobal. As the officers approached the vendors ran off. Police gave chase, but the vendors dropped the goods before escaping.
The operation resulted in the police finding 22 bottles of counterfeit perfume, three pairs of sandals, 17 bathing costumes, three strappy tee-shirts, 64 CD’s, five track suits, 11 tee-shirts, 65 Polo shirts and 18 football team shirts.
