Summer break starts for GINS at Los Moriscos

Los Moriscos

THE last game of the season at Los Moriscos for GINS ended on a high with 11 teams playing a bonus ball match.

It was fiercely contested with only one point separating the top three teams.

A meal at the Arbol Blanco in Almuñecar followed.

For those who still have the urge to swing a club at Los Moriscos throughout the summer, green fees are €34 but there is also afternoon golf available from 3 pm at €20.

Winning team was that of John Murrell, Rod Oldham, Brian Early and Malcolm Ritchie (151 points).

Second placed team was Keith Taylor, Ray Cooper, Irene Ward and Jim Paton (150), and third were Neil Taylor, Danny McBeth, John Conlan and Pam Cooper (150). Pat Dineen scored a two.

At the Añoreta competition Lyn McAllister (34) came out on top, followed by Steve Adams (34) and Roger Eatwell (31) on count back from Sean Daly and Joe Dines

Anne Jones  and Dietmar Stec scored twos.

There was another interesting day’s golf at Baviera under glorious blue skies with just a gentle zephyr coming off the sea to keep players cool.

But, with some exceptions, medal play does not seem to suit the players, with scores being a little on the high side.

Overall winner was Gill Boutel with a net 67.

In the men’s contest Jon Rose (69) was top with Clive Akid (73) second and Rafael Martin (75) third.

Gill Sibson (76) was winning lady ahead of Claire Gray (77). Gill Boutel and Dave Miles scored twos.
