Man of the moment
For the second time, Manchester United manager, David Moyes has had to insist that striker Wayne Rooney is not for sale.
Chelsea has made it clear that the England striker is their sole transfer target.
At a news conference in Sydney, the United boss said: “The club’s position has not changed.”
However, Moyes is keen to discover how to lure Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas to United.
He said: “I’m in contact with our chief executive who is dealing with the issue and hope to know more in a day or so.”
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been rejected already on a bid for Rooney.
Rumours were sparked when it was suggested that the 26 year-old striker was left “angered and confused” after there were suggestions that he was fellow striker Robin Van Persie’s back-up.
The striker was on the training complex for ongoing hamstring treatment after flying home from the club’s pre-season tour where they were preparing for a match in Australia.
