Increased second bid on Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas

Manchester United has made a revised second bid for the Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas it has been revealed.

They have increased their bid by five million taking it up to €39.5m for the 26 year-old. This will also include any add-ons claims Ed Woodward leading the negotiations.

“As I understand it, Ed had a response [to the first bid],” said Moyes at a press conference in Yokohama. “We have made a second offer, but Ed is dealing with it rather than me.”

No comment has officially been made from the Barcelona camp but this may be due to the fact that the stand down of the manager – Tito Vilanova has clouded the situation due to his health.

United have reportedly been interested in Real Madrid Forward Cristiano Ronaldo, where he started his career and Tottenham attacker Gareth Bale who has been strongly linked with Real Madrid.

There have been many suspicions of other transfers in the mists but none yet have been officially confirmed.

When asked his thoughts on the anxiety of the fans, Moyes replied: “I can understand that feeling. But there have been quite a few changes. Other managers have changed their clubs, too, and everybody thought this might be the summer when transfers are done later in the month.

“That was always the thought I had when I came into the club. You have to remember I only started on 1 July, so in truth I have only been in the job three weeks at this present time.”
