Edward Snowden - Whistleblower
It has been reported that US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden has finally left Moscow airport. He has been staying there since his arrival in June.
This statement has come from his lawyer. He has also claimed that Snowden has received the necessary paperwork to be able to enter Russian territory. Russia is also at the moment considering his request for asylum.
The USA has charged Edward Snowden with leaking details that relate to electronic surveillance programmes and that forced Snowden to leave for Hong Kong in June after these revelations were made.
This whole affair has caused worldwide problems upsetting not just America’s enemies but also their close allies.
Russia have made it clear that they will not be handing him over to the American’s even though they are still considering his asylum request. America on the other hand has tried to reassure the Russians that he will not be facing the death penalty if he is returned to them.
