The wait may finally be over. Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid are allegedly in advanced talks over a deal that could see Gareth Bale become the world’s most expensive player.
There has been no deal agreed yet for the 24-year-old Welshman but reportedly it seems to be only a matter of time. The Spurs forward has made his feelings clear that he wants to go to the Spanish capital.
Supposedly due to a foot problem, he has not travelled to Dinamo Tbilisi with Tottenham. Spurs have also not spared on their spending this summer. They have spent just over €70 million on players so far, breaking the clubs record twice.
If a deal is made, an announcement will not be made before Real’s friendly with Qatar side Al Sadd which marks the return of Raul, a club legend and leading scorer. He now plays for the Qatar side.
The Real Madrid number 11 shirt, the one which is worn by Bale at Spurs has been left vacant at Madrid in expectation of the new signing reports say.
