Thousands of Spaniards are devastated as Madrid loses their bid to host the Olympic Games in 2020 to Tokyo, Japan. Yesterday The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced their decision in Buenos Aires, Argentina that Tokyo would be the next city to host the Olympics. However, despite the devastation, Barcelona’s Mayor Xavier Trias has wasted no time in announcing the city’s plan to present a bid for the 2022 Winter Games. Trias has announced today that they have the dossier ready. He announced his plans to Catalan reporters, “We need to speak with the Spanish Olympic Committee to see if they are ready to go forward with this venture. “
