Plum contract for Alicante firm

ALICANTE-BASED Ecisa has constructed more buildings in Qatar than any other Spanish firm.

The company recently signed a €103 million contract for its 10th  assignment there in six years.

Work in progress in Qatar is already worth €215 million and represents 60 per cent of all the company’s building projects.

Ecisa’s first assignments in Qatar were relatively modest, like the €33 million MilitaryAcademy or the luxury BilalPlaza development worth €4.7 million.

The company is now about to begin on its biggest undertaking, completing three already-begun tower blocks on the artificial island, The Pearl, in one of Doha’s most exclusive areas.
