China’s Xi says wants peaceful handling of South China sea disputes

AKARTA (Reuters) – Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Thursday China wants territorial disputes in the South China Sea with Southeast Asian nations to be handled peacefully and through talks.

Xi, in an address to Indonesian parliamentarians in Jakarta, also said China aimed for bilateral trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to reach $1 trillion by 2020.
