A BRITISH patient has raised more than €5,000 for Leukaemia research.
Kim Edwards, who has been a patient at the Regional Hospital of Malaga for the last seven years, raised €5,113 for the Institute for Research in Biomedicine in the city, with the money going to Leukaemia research.
Kim Edwards said: “This gesture was a way to thank everyone who helped me, for their kindness and professionalism.” Wanting to publicly recognise all the people who were instrumental in her recovery, she spoke about the “inspiration, hope, laughter and determination” during her treatment and having the “support of all the world; professionals, friends and family.”
To raise raise funds, Kim also carried out a skydive: “For me it was a challenge because I am not a reckless person but I wanted to do something to express what I feel.”
