AN environmental NGO has asked for proof from the Balearic Government that the Safari Zoo in Sa Coma is licensed to open. According to a report in Mallorca Confidencial, the wildlife park does not meet with the minimum requirements stipulated by law.
They report that the animals are in a shameful condition and that there is a lack of safety where there is a possibility of visitors coming into contact with animals.
The animals are used in performances, and visitors also have the chance to have their photos taken with them. Both of these things are banned by laws for wildlife parks.
