MARTIN PHILIP: Played songs by Art Garfunkel and The Beatles.
A SMILE was brought to the faces of the Hermanas del Buen Samaritano nursing home residents in Nerja during a small concert held by musician Martin Philip.
A British expatriate living in Cutar, Martin played songs by Art Garfunkel and The Beatles among others, with ‘La Bamba’ as last song.
Martin came to the nursing home invited by Reed Patterson, who has been living in Nerja for the last 40 years and whose mother, Nancy, is a resident there.
“It was great to see the opposite languages humming away to the different tunes,” said Patterson.
This was Martin’s first gig in a nursing home and he’s already planning to come back after Christmas.
