ATLECTICO MADRID: One minute silence to honour Luis Aragones
Atletico Madrid are sole leaders of the Spanish league for the first time since 1996. They have recently shared the top spot with Barcelona, with Real Madrid only one point behind them.
On Sunday Atletico played a confident game bringing them a 4-0 win again Real Sociedad. There was an official one minute of silence before the match in honour of ex-Manager Luis Aragones, the fans then maintained the silence during the first eight minutes of the match before beginning to chant the name Aragones.
Real Madrid came away with a 1-1 draw to Athletic Bilbao after Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off for aggressive behavior against Bilbao’s Carlos Gurpegi.
Barcelona suffered their first home defeat of the season when they played against Valencia on Saturday, losing 3-2. They now share second place in the league with Real Madrid.
