Movistar to launch exclusive F1 channel in Spain

Formula 1 is set to have its own exclusive channel in Spain for the very first time.

Movistar customers are to benefit from an agreement between Telefonica and the management team at Formula 1 to provide broadcasts of Formula 1 events.

‘MovistarF1’ will be exclusive for Formula 1 Events and will allow Movistar TV subscribers to be able to enjoy races through their device connected to the Internet.

Races will be shown as an HD Multiscreen service and viewers will be able to select from six simultaneous race feeds, without adverts.

Alongside the service, the channel will be providing exclusive made programmes devoted to the sport.

The step is seen as part of Telefonica’s plan to push its strategy to provide better quality Pay TV Service

The programme is expected to be launched in March of this year.
