The mayor of Mojacar attended the opening of the Bowls Club.
The new Mojacar Bowls Club was officially declared open last Friday.
It is located in the Marina de la Torre area of Mojacar behind the Marina Mar Hotel.
For this project the town hall has received the support of the Government of Almeria, and the hotel chain Servigroup, which owns two hotels in the area.
The opening event was attended by the mayor, Rosa Maria Cano, various dignitaries and bowling club officials and members from Mojacar and the surrounding areas.
There was a great demand from the ex-pat community for this facility.
Thanks to Servigroup the opening of this club in Mojacar is already known to several other bowls clubs with the possibility of organising international championships and other sporting events.
With an area of 625 square metres and special artificial grass, the outdoor playing area can accommodate up to 48 players at one time.
The bowling club is fully equipped with a clubhouse, bar terrace, bowling carts, scoreboards, offices and toilets.
Ricardo Escudero, director of Servigroup in the Mojacar area, expressed his satisfaction at the opening of the new club, saying: “This completes the sporting activities of our hotels in Mojacar.”
