A bank worker from Edinburgh has died after falling from the balcony of a hotel room in Spain.

Morgan Lynn, 25, an internal control officer for the Royal Bank of Scotland, was on holiday in Benidorm when she fell on 27 February.

Ms Lynn is understood to have been staying at the three star Hotel Gala Placidia when she fell from the fifth floor.

Her colleagues paid tribute to her, saying she would be “sadly missed”.

An RBS spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with Morgan’s friends and family at this difficult time.

“She will be sadly missed by her colleagues and the many friends she made while working at RBS.”

A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We can confirm the death of a British national on 27 February in Benidorm, Spain.

“We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time.”
