Granada woman stabs husband to death

A fifty-three-year old woman has been arrested in Gojar, Granada for allegedly stabbing her 57-year-old husband to death at their marital home.

The woman was interviewed by the Guardia Civil in Granada when had an anxiety attack and was taken to hospital.

She is expected to pass into judicial custody within the next 72 hours.

The couple’s daughter, 30, found her father’s body and immediately called 061 for medical emergencies.

The Guardia Civil were then alerted and went to the house where they found a knife, presumably the murder weapon.

The daughter and wife were waiting for police next to the body.

As she appears to have stabbed him through the heart while he slept, there is no apparent motive for the crime.

A Guardia Civil report commented that the woman has a mental illness and this is thought to be the main reason for the murder.

Neither the town council nor local police have any record of domestic violence at the address.
