Spain’s high-speed AVE trains are soon to have quiet carriages.
Mobile phones will be prohibited inside the carriages and the lights will be dimmed within these zones to create a peaceful atmosphere for weary commuters.
Also, official announcements will be quieter than in the other carriages.
The price will be the same as for the normal carriage. However, buyers of this ‘quiet carriage’ ticket will be warned of the conditions and expected to adhere to the rules.
The new service is set to start in June and will be rolled out nationwide across the AVE network.
Additional changes being adopted at the same time include free onboard Wi-Fi and a free luggage porter service.
There are also plans to introduce a new type of AVE unlimited use ticket. This will allow unlimited use of the AVE for a certain length of time across the entire network.
