Train services will be improved in Mallorca.
Mallorca Rail Services (MRS) has announced a new train service to connect Manacor and Palma.
The journey time for this new service will be only 59 minutes, reducing the old time by 10 minutes.
The aim of the MRS is to improve the rail service for users from Manacor and other villages on the coast.
This new service is still in the experimental stage but if the results are positive it will become a fixture and may even increase the number of runs per day.
The MRS has also renewed its Tannoy systems in preparedness for the summer.
Mallorca Transport Consortium (MTC) will start up another seven bus lines to connect with the rail services and it will expand the timetables of another 17 lines in order to absorb the extra demands made on the system by the arrival of tourists for the summer season.
Details of the new lines and timetables can be found on the MTC’s web page www.tib.org.
