The body of an 83 year-old woman has been found at her home in Alhama, Murcia.
The pensioner’s hairdresser raised the alarm after she arrived for her usual appointment.
The woman’s niece, who had a set of keys, was called and found her aunt in the property covered in blood.
Residents say the woman was ‘much loved’ and lived alone since her husband died a decade ago.
Two of her children reside in Alhama, the other in San Javier and her niece lived opposite.
Police say the door had not been forced or the windows broken but are treating it as a murder case.
