The fire started in the mountains outside Torrent.
A fire that raged through the mountains in Torrent, Valencia, has finally been been put out and the 2,900 people who were evacuated have been allowed to go back to their homes.
The fire burnt a total of 320 hectares.
Neighbours in the area have said that the state of the mountain was like an accident waiting to happen, apparently it had not been “cleaned” (brush taken away) for a long time.
Eight fire brigades were working on the extinction of the fire with seven aerial units and six pumping trucks as well as the help received from, among others, the Guardia Civil and the Generalitat police.
All services, gas, electricity etc, have now been restored.
