More passengers for Malaga Airport

Malaga airport was used by 1.2 million passengers in April.

The number of passengers at Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport increased by 13%, compared to April last year.

According to Spanish Airport Authority (Aena), the airport was used by 1.2 million passengers in April this year.

It showed the second best improvement in the whole of Spain, beaten only by the Canary Islands, with a rise of 17.1%.

Meanwhile, Barcelona rose almost 11%, Alicante 9.6%, Madrid 7.6%, and the Balearic Islands 6.1%.

In the first four months of the year, the airport has been used by 3.2 million people, which is almost 10% more than the same period in 2013.

It is hoped that the total by the end of this year will be more than 13 million passengers, something which was last seen in 2006 and 2007.
