Bouncy castle calamity in Madrid

Four children were injured in the Madrid district of Leganes when a bouncy castle on which they were playing was blown over by a gust of wind.

Police report that it appears the castle was not anchored to the floor.

The children, aged between three and eight, were playing on the five-metre-tall castle within the Parquesur Shopping Centre at around 5pm.

The emergency services reported that two of the children ended up on the roof of an eight-metre building near the shopping centre.

One four-year-old was trapped inside the castle and sustained the worst injuries, mainly to the chest. He was admitted to hospital.

The others were found 20 and 100 metres away from the original location of the castle.

Two of them sustained fractures and other injuries, and the third had face injuries.
