Young man missing in Almuñecar

GUARDIA CIVIL officers are currently looking for a young man who went missing yesterday (Wednesday, May 20) when he was diving in the area of Cerro Gordo at Almuñecar’s La Herradura beach.
The emergency services source explained that they were alerted at around 11.30pm to the disappearance of a young man by his father and brother.
Local Police, Guardia civil and Salvamento Maritimo (Spanish sea search and rescue team) attended the scene immediately and were able to rescue the man’s brother, who had jumped into the sea to look for him.
The Guardia Civil deployment has been active during the whole night but no signs of the man have been found yet.
