A man set his rental home in West Seattle on fire after trying to kill a spider by creatively using a lighter and a can of spray paint.
The incident occurred in the laundry room of the man’s home. The spider was on the wall when the man decided to solve the issue with a makeshift blowtorch. There were no injuries but the fate of the spider is still unknown.
Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene to put out the blaze, however, there was nearly €50,000 worth of damage to the home.
A neighbour told television channel KIRO 7 Seattle that she “saw flames coming out of the side of the house and heard popping sounds.”
The Red Cross has provided temporary accommodation for the attempted spider slayer and the other person he was living with.
