Police collar dashboard immigrants

Two immigrants, a woman aged 19 accompanied by a 15 year old boy, thought to be from Guinea on the western coast of Africa were caught hiding in the dashboard and chassis of a car with the intention of passing the border control at Beni Enzar in Melilla. Last Friday at approximately 14.45 the officers from the ´´Grupo Operativo de Fronteras (GOF)“ prevented a possible fatal and illegal incursion.

A tourist had been refused entry for not passing the required entry checks and in the meantime the car attempted to cross, however an officer saw a body part protruding from the underside of the vehicle causing the driver to flee towards Morocco upon being stopped. The officers then searched under the trunk to find the teenager and soon freed him only to hear banging and shouting from under the chassis. The authorities then released the 19 year old woman and quickly sent her to the Accident and Emergency section of local hospital Comarcal in order to relieve symptoms of asphyxiation. This case is now being handled by the Unit against illegal and false Immigration networks (UCRIF).
