Frank Lampard, ex-Chelsea player, is reported to be making a loan move to Manchester City of the Premier League. The legend played for more than 10 years for the London club before moving this summer to New York City after his contract was not renewed by Jose Mourinho.
Manchester City and New York City FC are both owned by the same Dubai billionaires leading to widespread reports of a move. Chelsea fans may be surprised by the player’s move to a rival following many years of legendary stature at the club where he scored 211 goals and is their all-time leading goal scorer.
The MLS season does not begin for another 6 months and therefore the player was looking to gain some important playing time to maintain his fitness but few would have seen this loan move coming. The news will be greeted warmly by Premier League fans who will miss seeing the midfielder every week with his trademark late bursts into the penalty box. Lampard fans will eagerly wait to see what the England international decides will be his next move.
