2,998 Korans to be burned

The 13th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks against the USA is set to be marked by the burning of 2,998 copies of the Koran, representing one for each individual who lost their lives.

Dr Terry Jones from the American website ‘Stand Up America Now’ has released details that they will be holding an international burning of the Koran en masse to send a sharp message to Islam, giving a very clear warning that they will not get a foothold in the American Constitution as they have done in Europe.

Dr Jones says: “The radical hand of Islam shows itself with violence against anyone who dares to stand up and speak the truth.”

He goes on to say: “Radical Islam will not be stopped by the appeasing attitude of the present Obama administration, but only by a show of force and determination. We at ‘Stand Up America Now’ will not back down. We will not be silent.”

Some may see this as an aggressive remembrance, whereas others a fair and proper tribute.
