There are some very good reasons why you should protect your eyes from the sun:

Each year three million people go blind from prolonged UV exposure. It is a major hazard for the eyes and the skin around the eyes and can cause accelerated skin aging (wrinkles), eye diseases (cataracts), risks of cancer (90 per cent of skin cancers occur on the face and neck, of which 5 to 10 per cent are on the eyelids).

UV rays are everywhere, 365 days a year: 40 per cent of UV exposure occurs when not in full sunlight (all year long, even in cloudy conditions and at home and over 90 per cent of UV rays may pass through clouds.

Bright light bothers your vision?

Eighty eight per cent of people are sensitive to bright light. Ask for dark tinted lenses to reduce bright light. Corrective sun lenses are available for 100 per cent prescription.

If you drive or spend time by the sea, ask for polarised lenses to eliminate reflected glare. Vision, and thus reaction times, can be compromised by glare, leading a longer time before you step on the brake, meaning you can travel seven metres further before stopping.

Sunglasses are essential to protect your eyes. All +Vision sunglass lenses have full protection against UV.

Let +Vision help you find suitable eye wear choices. Special August opening hours: Monday-Friday 10am-1.30pm and 6pm-9pm and Saturdays closed. September: Monday-Friday 10am-2pm and 5pm-8.30pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm.
