Woman kills newborn baby

NATIONAL POLICE officers in Alicante arrested a woman for killing her newborn baby.

The 18-year-old confessed to murdering her son and abandoning his lifeless body in a waste container.

The woman went to a hospital on Wednesday last week at around 10pm and asked to be seen by a physician. Hospital nurses realised she had recently given birth and repeatedly asked her where the baby was. She then gave in to the pressure and confessed to the gruesome murder. The woman was born in Colombia but has a Spanish passport.

The police later arrived at the hospital and took her to El Ensanche urbanisation in Alcoy (Alicante). There they found the waste container and the murdered baby.

The woman is said to have killed her son shortly after giving birth and it remains to be determined if the stabbing wounds to the baby’s body were made after or before he died.

At the time of writing she was being questioned by Spanish police.
