Caroline Gracia presents August’s movie roundup
COUNCILLOR for Youth, Carolina Gracia, has announced a list of movies to be shown in and around Orihuela for the second half of August.
On August 18 The Croods, an animated prehistoric movie adventure voiced by Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds among others. The Croods is showing in the Glorieta Gabriel Miro. August 19 in the same venue is the turn of Oblivion, an action packed movie starring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. On August 20 it is Gru 2: My favourite villain. English speakers will know him better as Despicable Me 2, another animated movie, this time voiced by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. August 21 switches to Rincon Hernandiano on Calle Arribe for Abuelos al poder (Parental Guidance) a 2012 family fun movie starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler.
Outside of the town of Orihuela, The Croods will also be screened in the church square in Hurchillo on August 26. El alucinante mundo de Norman (ParaNorman) another animated adventure screening in the Parque de las Fiestas de Molins, this time featuring a little boy who takes on ghosts and zombies to save his town. The 2012 movie features Kodi Smit-McPhee and Anna Kendrick among the voices. Finally, in the Colegio Publico Nuestra Señora del PIlar de la Campaneta, the film Epic: El mundo secreto (Epic) will be screening. Another animated movie, this one features a teenager called MK (Mary Katherine) who finds herself transported to a deep forest where a battle between the forces of good and evil is taking place.
All viewings are at 10pm. Carolina Gracia has asked Euro Weekly News to point out that the movies “are suitable for all audiences.”
