Supercars are a sign of wealth and extravagance and they are not in short supply over the summer months in some of the most popular destinations in the world.
Arab princes and high society have been flying their custom made supercars from their homes to London for a few weeks while they stay in the capital. Gold Range Rovers, Lamborghinis and Bugatti Veyrons can be seen parked in Knightsbridge and the costs are astronomical.
In addition to the hundreds of thousands spent on the vehicles, these playboys pay more than €25,000 to fly them to London and back. They are strapped to the floors of planes and some flights can even carry 30 cars on the big Airbus planes.
They are permitted to drive them for up to two months and Daniel Hallworth who in the managing director of such a company said “A lot of them tour – so they may come to London for a bit and then truck their vehicle to much sunnier places like Marbella to extend their fun.”
They charge more than €6000 for one way depending on which car they are transporting, a Veyron would cost even more.
The Arab playboys, having finished Ramadan, come here to show off their ‘rides’ to the public and it does attract car lovers to the capital to catch a glimpse of a Ferrari or a McLaren. They are enjoying their summer holiday in London, already one of the fashion capitals of the world, and make it just that bit more fancy.
