MORE than 80,000 people descended upon Villaricos for the Dreambeach festival this month.
Organisers have hailed the event a massive success, and have enthused about the extra money for the area as the partygoers splashed out on additional leisure activities in the area like boat tours, as well as frequenting bars and restaurants.
More than 100 DJs performed at the event including Knife Party, DJ Nano, Brian Cross, the only performance in Spain from W&W, and the world famous Armin Van Buuren, the only artist in the world to be voted the best DJ in the world.
The event generated jobs for 800 people, 60 per cent of them from Almeria, and 75 per cent of the event’s suppliers were based in Almeria too, contributing to the province’s economy.
Average expenditure was estimated by the organisers at €100 per day, bringing a financial boost of €7 million to the area.
