New guides for foreign residents

ALICANTE Provincial Council has released two new resource guides for all foreign nationals which covers law, residence, right to work and the acquisition of Spanish citizenship.
 
The guides have been released in response to the many requests and questions from foreign residents in the area. The guides are available in Castillian, English, French and Russian.
 
Representative for equality, youth and foreign citizens, Mercedes Alonso pointed out that Alicante is the Spanish province with the highest percentage of foreign population (24 per cent).
 
She said: “It is our obligation to ensure the full rights for all in order to contribute to a modern, pluralistic and tolerant society.”
 
Alonso said that the information guides are intended to inform clearly and concisely any new residents on what to do, where to go, and what documentation is needed, depending on a personal situation. 
 
In addition, contact details are provided for organisations that can provide further support.
