BENIDORM is the third most photographed beach in Spain on Flickr, with 56,172 images.

Flickr, the photography-themed social network owned by Yahoo!, has produced a list of the 10 most photographed and stored beaches in Spain. The network stores user photographs in a visual interface. Flickr has 92 million users, across 63 countries, according to Techcrunch, sharing around one million photographs every day.

Benidorm is the only municipality in the Valencian Community that appears in the ranking, and is surpassed in Spain only by Tarifa, with 64,068 photographs, and Sitges, with 106,070.

The portal Yahoo! purchased Flickr in 2005 for $35 million (€26.22 million) from the Vancouver based founders Caterina Fake and Stewart Butterfield, less than a year after its founding. At the time it had around a million users. Flickr said photo uploads on the site are up 170 per cent since it made 1TB of storage a free standard feature for all users in May 2013.
