IF you like the sound of the sea and the feeling of the sand in your feet, you belong in Windsurf La Herradura Shop and School.
At Windsurf La Herradura, they have been testing the water for the last 35 years to make your experience unforgettable. Whether it is a new windsurf board or classes, they have a sea of options available to their clients and students.
They are located in the perfect place: blue skies, a warm and soft breeze all-year-round, secluded sandy beaches surrounded by tropical flowers, and the blue Mediterranean Sea.
At first it was only a windsurf shop.
At the time, windsurf boards were unstable, which meant previous knowledge and experience was needed.
“The school would open in the summer months only and with the help of friends. Today they are part of our team, otherwise known as our ‘highly qualified staff’,” said Luis Schrave, owner of the school and shop. “In 2000 two full-time staff joined and the school stayed opened all-yearround with a wide range of activities.”
Windsurf La Herradura’s basic package is a fivehour sailing course, including theory and practice. This allows students to learn all the necessary skills with their boards and everything else related to the sport.
School groups are welcome, and young learners can learn about the sea through watersports such as sailing, kayaking and paddle board.
Another option is sailing trips or kayak excursions, including snorkeling in Cueva de las Palomas and Cantarijan Parque Natural.
And for those who are already savvy at sea, Windsurf La Herradura has a number of boats for rent by the hour or by the day: Hobie 15 catamarans; windsurf and paddle boards; and kayaks for rent by the hour or by the day.
With so many options to chose from, Windsurf La Herradura is the only centre of its kind in the region.
