JAMES CORDEN, the co-writer and actor in Gavin & Stacy and star of the 2013 Paul Potts film ‘One Chance’ has landed a dream job in New York as the chat show host for the highly rated CBS Chat show ‘Late Late Show.’

Corden said: “I can’t describe how thrilled and honoured I am to be taking over from the brilliant Craig Ferguson. To be asked to host such a prestigious show on America’s number one network is hugely exciting. I can’t wait to get started, and will do my very best to make a show America will enjoy.”

Corden started his career in England as creator, co-writer and actor in the hugely popular BBC series Gavin & Stacey, for which he won a BAFTA. He then went on to star in the huge broadway hit ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ for which he won a Tony Award in 2012.

Although landing parts in films since 1997, 2013 saw Corden get his first major leading role as Paul Potts, the  ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ tenor singer who worked in a mobile phone shop and  stunned the nation with his rendition of  ‘Nessun Dorma’ at  his first audition and who went on to win the talent show.

Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS entertainment, which is currently the number one network in America called Corden “a rare entertainment force who combines irresistible charm, warmth and originality with a diverse range of creative instincts and performance talent.”

Corden is due to take over next year from Craig Ferguson who finishes in December.
