A 63-YEAR-OLD man jumped to his death from a six metre high flyover close to the neighbourhood of Pillari.
He was hit by two cars, suffering serious injuries and dying almost instantly.
Three occupants of the vehicles suffered minor physical injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
The man’s body landed on the motorway’s hard shoulder, causing the right hand lane towards Palma to be closed for more than two hours, which in turn caused long tailbacks.
Witnesses told officers from the Guardia Civil that the man had jumped voluntarily.
The man was later identified as E.J., aged 63.
